JUNIOR MUSIC STUDIES

Musica Nova offers the Certificate Programme for those dedicated musicians interested in a more intense educational experience.

The Certificate Programme curriculum compliments individual tuition and includes:

First study instrument (individual tuition)

minimum 50 minutes (see tuition fees)

Second study instrument (individual tuition)

minimum 30 minutes**

Musicianship class: the aural and historical studies (group tuition)     

90 minutes with an interval

Pedagogy course: methodology and practice

30 minutes (advanced level only)

Choir/ensemble

45 minutes

The Programme also offers:

 

  • Preparation for grade exams and performance certificates
  • A graded series of repertoire
  • Annual evaluations in performance and music theory
  • All theory rudiments, harmony, counterpoint and analysis
  • Special workshops with well-known musicians
  • An annual awards summer concert and 3 concerts at the end of each term

In order to gain the best possible benefit from the tuition offered, the students are expected to devote a considerable amount of time each week to practice.

**It would be advisable to undertake the Second study instrument, but not compulsory. The duration of the lesson is 30 minutes. Please contact us for more details.

GCSE and A level Music Access Classes

Musica Nova offers classes in GCSE and A level music. They act as supportive classes to students’ studies at their day school.
