Enchanted by outstanding musical and vocal talents of a Russian girl, the owner of "Harrods" Mr. Al Fayed, has invited Daria to sing at the opening ceremony of their winter Sale.
It has been known as "Harrods" annual event. As often there is a huge crowd gathering together outside Door 5 of the well-known house in Knightsbridge. These are the moments before the final countdown to one’s dream to come true in the form of desirable goods in "green bags". This year was not an exception. Despite of the rainy morning, the square in front of "Harrods" was literally filled to the brim with excited customers.
But when Dana appeared on the stage, dressed in a light airy dress and started singing "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Weber and "The Laughing Song" by U. Strauss II, the future customers became spellbound by her beautiful angelic voice.
Daria was born in Kharkov into a musical family with Welsh roots. She gave her first public performance at the age of six. Since then Dana made regular appearances on the Ukrainian national and international TV and Radio, won several national singing contests and recorded a number of songs, which were written specially for her by famous Ukrainian and Russian composers and lyricists. In August 2002, Dana became a prize winner of the National Talent Competition for vocalists under 18s held in Weston-super-Mare.
Since June 2002, she has been studying vocal and piano under the tutelage of Mrs. Evgenia Terentieva at the Musica Nova Studios in London. A noted vocal coach and acclaimed singer and musician, Evgenia developed unique teaching methodology, which delivers consistently impressive results. Dana’s future plans include live performances in the UK, France, Poland and Ukraine. From next spring, she will also start working on her first album.
