Youri was born in the town of the sun and sea - Sotchi... began to play at 3 years of age. At the age of six he understood well the concept of the piano, at the age of seven he know the guitar and at the age of eight he could play accordion.
Youri had graduated from the Conservatory of Gorky with Master Degree. He had traveled with concerts through the entire former Soviet Union, Finland, Cyprus as well as Great Britain, where he resides since 1994.
Youri is a professional opera singer - a baritone. But he did have other interests. He always loved jazz. As a composer, accompanist and arranger he performed with many distinguished artists. For 1.5 years he was a soloist of the most famous State Establishment in Russia, Moscow Military Ensemble of Singing and Dancing under the leadership of V. Gordeev. The main stage for the ensemble was the Kremlin Palace and all the major concert halls in Russia and abroad.
Youri is the established performer of Russian Romances. For over 30 years he has been researching and archiving the Russian romantic ballads and Gypsy songs. He has an impressive discography of his interpretations of the songs and his own compositions, including highly acclaimed cycle of songs on the poetry of S. Esenin. His recordings are frequently broadcast on BBC, national radio and television stations in the UK and Russia.
Youri is a talented teacher and educator. He is also a member of the UK Musicians' Union.
